Try this surprisingly easy, aromatic, delicious orange bread and indulge with a smile welcoming this gorgeous festive season ;)
Ingredients
3 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground glove
the zest of 2 oranges
1/3 cup cold butter cubed
2 eggs
juice of 3 large oranges
For the nutella icing
2 tbsp nutella
1 tsp hot milk
For the Orange Icing
3 tbsp orange juice
1 cup icing sugar
How to make
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and slightly flour a wreath spring form.
Using a bowl mix the flour with the sugar, baking powder, salt, glove and orange zest.
Add the cold butter cubes and work with pastry dough utensil or two knifes or with your hands to create a fine crumb mixture.
Whisk the eggs and add the orange mixture. Mix well.
Pour the egg mixture to the flour mixture and mix using a spoon.
Add the batter into the spring cake form and bake your bread for 30 - 35 minutes.
Leave inside the form for 10 minutes, remove from the pan and transfer to a rack to cool.
Icings
Combine the nutella with milk and drizzle over the cooled cake.
Combine the orange juice with the icing sugar (add gradually) and drizzle over the cooled cake.
